Our name was established after multiple weeks of prayer and discussion amongst the Executive team and our companies’ intercessors. We wanted a name that was meaningful and that considered practical matters such as the availability of a domain name and ease of spelling. We eventually determined that the name was to be “TheJoshuaList”. The name evoked thoughts of God’s people entering into their inheritance and possessing the land that God had given them.

Several weeks after securing the domain name, our company President was reading the book of Numbers. In this book, the Lord instructs Moses to take a census in the second year following Israel’s departure from Egypt. Later, as every Christian has heard many times, scouts were sent to spy out Canaan and ten of the twelve returned with a bad report. The Lord then told Moses that none of those numbered in the census, with the exception of Caleb and Joshua would enter into Canaan and that Israel would spend another forty years in the wilderness.

Forty years later, the Lord instructed Moses to take a second census. Those that were numbered in the second census did not include anyone from the first census. Shortly after this, the Lord told Moses that he would soon die, and that he was to appoint Joshua as his successor to lead Israel. Upon reading this, our company President about fell out of his chair. The proverbial light bulb went on. The second census included the list of those that Joshua led into the Promised land. The second census was Joshua’s list. A list of those that would enter into their inheritance.

Interestingly, we chose to launch TheJoshuaList.com on April 22nd, 2009 at the Kingdom Economic Yearly Summit, held in Austin, Texas. This event was well aligned with both our vision and the timing of our launch, so we decided a month prior to the event to become a sponsor.  We pushed hard to be ready for our launch and our public unveiling. We made our date and felt good about our decision to attend KEYS. On the final day of the conference, it occurred to us that we had launched our site at a conference that was hosted by a church in Austin named Promise Land! Wow. We couldn't have planned a more appropriate launch.

We are very excited to have created “TheJoshuaList” directory and expect it to grow rapidly. Our vision for this site is to “connect Christians”, resulting in a stronger and more unified Christian community. Our hope and continuing prayer is that our vision will be realized and that TheJoshuaList will help many enter into their inheritance.
